When it comes to an effective trading platform there are a few criteria that one should consider. First off, there should be no commissions for tradingi.e., trading should be free. Second off, the platform should allow for trading cryptocurrencies along with stocks and optionsi.e., it should offer a variety of instruments one can trade. Thirdly, the platform should be simple, easy to use, and very intuitivei.e., it should not be overly complicated to trade on the platform. Fourthly, the platform should come with access to customer service in case a bug does arise or something does go wrong with the platforms trading application. Fifth, and finally, the platform should have a great app that does not drain ones phone and is great for trading. Based on these five criteria, Robinhood is a good trading platform because it is free to trade, offers a variety of instruments from stocks to options to cryptocurrencies, it is simple and not complicated to use, it finally now provides access to customer service, and its app is great.

First off, when it comes to online stock trading platforms, Robinhood is a relative newcomer. Founded in 2013, the company has quickly gained a loyal following among investors who appreciate its simple and intuitive interface (Our Story). But more importantly, and more to the point, Robinhood has changed the face of trading because from the get-go it offered free trades for all clientswhich was simply something unheard of at the time. No other major platform from eTrade to Fidelity offered commission-less trading. Yet never in its life has Robinhood charged for people to buy or sell using its platform. The company simple does not charge commissions for trades, making it an appealing choice for cost-conscious investors. Of course, there are other platforms that now have followed in Robinhoods suit and also do not charge commissions, but Robinhood was the first and therefore will always carry the mantle as being first to market on no-commission-trading. For that reason, it will reserve a special place in the heart of many retail traders, who appreciate what Robinhood did for the trading platform...
